The National Association of Chain Drug Stores announced late Thursday it will lay off 15 of its 92 staff members—a 16 percent reduction in workforce—as a reaction to the sputtering economy and as part of long-term restructuring. In a media release, NACDS said the staff reduction falls within what the group terms a “1,000-day plan,” which began February 2007 and has already reorganized and restructured its communications and public policy departments.
